This module will support the student in undertaking an independent piece of research. Previous learning from postgraduate diploma modules will aid and inform the student in being able to demonstrate the ability to synthesise and evaluate knowledge at an advanced level, through the systematic investigation of a topic relevant to the workplace/professional practice The module involves devising and undertaking a research project. Students should be guided to consider and submit where appropriate ethical applications to gain access to sources of investigation. The student will also use the skills of analysis and evaluation of research and the theoretical bases of the work. They will endeavour to produce work that is unique, and which provides a basis of innovation in their area of practice.
